Chloe Nobuhara
Masters Student in Epidemiology and Clinical Research, admitted Autumn 2025
BioChloe Nobuhara is a fourth year general surgery resident at Stanford University, currently doing two years of research in the application of artificial intelligence in the operating room. Her projects include computer vision pipelines for automated performance assessment, the use of ambient intelligence for operational efficiency, and the use of automated documentation for burnout reduction. She completed her undergraduate studies at Northeastern University and her MD at Duke University School of Medicine. She is also concurrently in a Masters in Epidemiology with a focus in informatics.

Peter Nonso Nwokoye
MD Student with Scholarly Concentration in Bioengineering, expected graduation Spring 2027
BioPeter Nonso Nwokoye was born and raised in Nigeria and graduated summa cum laude with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Barry University. During his undergraduate studies, he worked on the synthesis of selective muscarinic receptor agonists and antagonists. In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship to study at King's College, University of Cambridge. There, under the mentorship of Professor Anthony Davenport, he researched the expression and signaling of the apelin receptor and its endogenous agonists, Elabela and Apelin, in glioblastoma stem cells. This experience sparked his interest in developing novel methods to deorphanize orphan Class A GPCRs. After several months of intensive computational research, Peter developed a complex, multi-layered bioinformatic tool that he has used to identify likely endogenous ligands of orphan GPCRs, focusing on peptide ligands found in annotated uncharacterized open reading frames in the human genome. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, running, meditating, and teaching. Peter is excited about pursuing a career as a physician-scientist.

Marcus Oehlrich, PhD

BioI am a Professor of Finance, Accounting, and Taxation at accadis University of Applied Sciences in Bad Homburg, Germany, and I advise on startups, business valuation, and corporate finance. My consulting projects range from small startups in biotechnology and M&A transactions in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors to the preparation of the business plan for the IPO of an international music and movie production group.
During my business studies, I became interested in law and medicine (especially cancer research), which is why I continued my education in these fields (including a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Medicine, a Certificate in Pharmaceutical Law, and an MPH at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health). Subsequently, I have started the M.S. in Biomedical Data Science at the Department of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University School of Medicine.
I also had the privilege of serving as the CEO of the Institute for German, European, and International Medical Law, Health Law, and Bioethics of the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim (IMGB) from 2005 to 2011. At accadis University of Applied Sciences, I am Head of the Health Care Management Research Group and responsible for the Master of Arts in International Health Care Management. From 2010 to 2020, I served as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Frankfurt, Germany.
Most of my publications (12 books and more than 70 articles) are related to business topics. However, I also authored three books on cancer "Internetkompass Krebs [Internet compass cancer]" (Springer 2001), "Recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody Trastuzumab for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer with tumors overexpressing the HER2/neu proto-oncogene: A systematic review" (dissertation.de 2003) and "Krebs vorbeugen und bekämpfen [Preventing and combating cancer: All about prevention, early detection, therapy]" (Reader's Digest 2012). The latter was translated into Polish, Czech, Croatian, Slovenian, and Hungarian. -
Jackson Powell

This includes reading neural activity through clinical means like intracranial EEG, or lab methods like Neuropixels. Similarly, I am interested in neuromodulation, such as deep brain stimulation for neurosurgical patients, or optogenetics for discovery.

Johnny G. Powell

BioJohnny Powell, from Greensboro, North Carolina, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in psychology. Johnny aspires to lead medical practice in underserved communities and drive structural change to make health care more accessible at scale. While at Harvard, he led youth mentorship programming in Boston and Japan, conducted research in the natural and social sciences, and shadowed hospital physicians in Spain. As president of the Harvard Black Men’s Forum, Johnny implemented lasting infrastructure to promote public service and inclusion. After graduating, he worked as an associate consultant at Bain & Company on health care and social impact projects. Passionate about health equity, Johnny also served as research coordinator for the All of Us Research Program, a national National Institutes of Health initiative to increase diversity in health care research, at the University of Chicago.

Margarita Ramirez Silva, MPH

BioMargarita is an MD student born in Colombia and raised in Miami, FL. While formerly undocumented and unstably housed, she personally experienced the downstream effects of a broken healthcare system, motivating her to pursue an MPH at Northwestern and to work on diversity initiatives at Stanford. Nowadays, Margarita is interested in reproductive psychiatry and integrated behavioral health, and aspires to address the health inequities which most deeply affect minorities in the United States.

Nojus Saad
Masters Student in Clinical Informatics Management, admitted Summer 2026
BioNojus Saad, MD, is a physician-entrepreneur and digital health diplomat dedicated to engineering health justice through scalable digital systems. As a volunteer humanitarian advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO), he co-develops global adolescent health indicators adopted by the World Bank, UNFPA, UN H6+ Partners, and UN Member States. His leadership in rural and LMIC communities across Iraq, India, and France is anchored by his role as a former founder and executive at the Youth For Women Foundation, where he spearheaded 45 youth-led initiatives directly impacting the lives of 18,500 women and young people.
Dr. Saad’s diplomatic expertise spans health and security, having served as UN Youth Ambassador for Disarmament and Biosecurity (UNODA) and as the MENA Youth Lead for the Swiss-based DTH-Lab. Through these mandates, he mobilized coalitions across 12 MENA countries to integrate digital innovation into national health agendas. This high-level advocacy is validated by his track record as a systems architect; in 2021, he orchestrated a digital health literacy and COVID-19 misinformation initiative for rural and displaced populations. By building the digital capacity of NGO leaders and youth, he empowered grassroots networks to execute 15 targeted awareness campaigns, reaching 10,000 women and youth to strengthen their access to reliable health services.
Looking ahead, Dr. Saad aspires to build a coordinated, all-in-one digital health platform connecting Iraq’s public and private healthcare sectors. The envisioned system would use interoperable electronic health records and data-driven referral matching to streamline patient pathways and connect individuals with high-quality, cost-effective care both within Iraq and internationally, including the United States and France. His long-term vision is to help unify fragmented healthcare systems and improve access to specialized care.
A Knight-Hennessy Scholar and former advisor to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, Dr. Saad holds an MD with executive diplomatic training from the Karolinska Institute and Stockholm School of Economics. At Stanford MCiM, he is refining the technical and managerial frameworks necessary to lead the next generation of inclusive, tech-driven health systems in LMICs. -
Sina Sadeghzadeh
MD Student with Scholarly Concentration in Clinical Research, expected graduation Spring 2027
BioSina was born in Tehran, Iran and raised in Zanjan, Iran. He came out to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University where he obtained his undergraduate degree cum laude in Neuroscience with a secondary in Economics. In college, Sina conducted wet-lab research under the supervision of Dr. Hugo Bellen, worked as a legal intern in Levy Firestone Muse LLP, and served as a research assistant for Drs. Francis Shen, Steven Levitsky, and Jennifer Hochschild. Sina moved to California (by bike!) to begin medical school at Stanford where he is currently pursuing clinical and basic science research opportunities in the neuroscience domain. Outside of medical school, Sina is an avid cyclist, enjoys going on walks, doing yoga, and learning to salsa dance.
