BioEleni Linos MD, MPH, DrPH, is the Director of the Stanford Center for Digital Health. She is a Professor of Dermatology and Epidemiology at Stanford University. Dr. Linos also serves as an Associate Dean for Research, leading the KL2 Research Training Program.
Dr. Linos' research focuses on the use of technology in health, dermatology, public health, cancer prevention and the care of older adults. She is dually trained in epidemiology and dermatology and is the principal investigator of several NIH funded studies aimed at improving the lives of patients. She received her medical degree from Cambridge and Oxford universities in the UK, received a masters and doctoral degree from the Harvard School of Public Health and completed her residency at Stanford. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe Marinkovich lab studies the function of epithelial extracellular matrix molecules, including integrins, collagens and laminins in epithelial development and carcinoma progression. We apply our discoveries in this area towards development of molecular therapies for carcinomas, hair disease and inherited epithelial adhesive disorders.

Vaishali Mittal

BioVaishali Mittal, MD is a Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow in the Department of Dermatology at Stanford University under the guidance of Dr. Jean Y. Tang.
Her current research is focused on epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a group of rare diseases that cause the skin and mucous membranes to blister easily. She is involved in conducting long-term clinical trials examining the application of an autologous, gene-corrected keratinocyte sheet for the treatment of recessive dystrophic EB (RDEB). In addition, she is currently leading several research projects, including investigation of genotype-phenotype associations in multiple subtypes of EB, creation of an online platform for EB patients/families and investigators to collaborate together on research, and development of an online genetic registry for EB patients using a novel, home-based genetic testing kit.
Vaishali received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Brockton Hospital. -

BioKristin M. Nord, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and served as Residency Program Director from 2012-2022. Dr. Nord received her doctor of medicine from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed her residency in Dermatology at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Nord is Attending Physician at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where her clinical interests are general dermatology, complex medical dermatology and procedural dermatology, and she serves as Assistant Co-Chief of Dermatologic Surgery. Her research focus is on skin cancer education and prevention, and she is co-faculty lead for SUNSPORT (Stanford University Sun Protection Outreach Research and Teamwork).

I have served as the lead dermatologist in our ongoing effort to develop AI-augmented classification of skin lesions. We are in the process of establishing one of the first prospective studies examining the performance of a deep learning algorithm in real-world patients.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur lab uses the skin to answer questions about epithelial stem cell biology, differentiation and carcinogenesis using genomics, genetics, and cell biological techniques. We have studied how hedgehog signaling regulates regeneration and skin cancer, and how tumors evolve to develop resistance. We study the mechanisms of early human skin development using human embryonic stem cells. These fundamentals studies provide a greater understanding of epithelial biology and novel disease therapeutics.

She attended medical school at Boston University and completed her residency at Loma Linda, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Pugliese practices Supportive Dermato-Oncology (SDO) at the Stanford main campus and also launched the South Bay Cancer Center's SDO Clinic in 2015. She is interested in the management of cutaneous complications associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, organ transplantation, and their impact on patient quality of life.

She received her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 2008 where she spent one year doing dedicated basic science research studying cancer immunotherapy. She trained in radiation oncology, completing residency at USC and fellowship at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute, prior to completing her dermatology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2018. Dr. Sachsman is a board certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her clinical interests are general dermatology and complex medical dermatology including acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, high risk non-melanoma skin cancer, pigmented lesions, supportive dermato-oncology, and cutaneous lymphoma.

Mrinmoy Sanyal

BioMrinmoy Sanyal obtained his undergraduate and master's degree in Human Physiology at the University of Calcutta. He did his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, working on reproductive immunology, with the focus on trophoblast invasion and differentiation and their role in human blastocyst implantation. Then, he moved to Stanford University for a postdoctoral fellowship on the role of transcription factor Pbx1, a leukemia proto-oncogene, on B cell development. Currently, he is Research Scientist at Department of Biochemistry, Stanford University. His work covers various topics, including B cell responses to viral infection and vaccination, human primary immunodeficiency, and biology of lymphocyte development and function and to elucidate etiology of immunological disorders.

BioI develop computational algorithms including AI/ML and statistical methods to discover insights at various resolutions of the biological hierarchy i.e., molecules, cells, tissues, organs, organism and population-scale.
In my current role in the laboratories of Paul Khavari and Howard Chang I conduct bioinformatics research to study the molecular mechanisms of tissue development, cancers, autoimmunity and chronic diseases using multiomics, with a focus on the non-coding genome.
I have ten years of academic research experience and received my Ph.D. in Data Science specializing in AI/ML development for diverse topics in biomedicine.
My research interests include artificial intelligence to identify novel patterns in multiomics data, psychometrics and neuroimaging data; structural bioinformatics and computational epidemiology. Additionally, I have conducted research in anomaly detection, and community detection in biological networks.
I am the co-inventor of a patented anomaly detection method for real-time streaming data.
Prior to graduate training and academic research, I was a full-stack software engineer in industry for three years. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy laboratory is focused on two primary areas of research: (1) the immune response to head and neck cancer and to a tumorigenic population of cells within these malignancies called cancer stem cells; (2) the developmental programs of a special lymphocyte population involved in innate immunity called natural killer (NK) cells; and (3) intra-tumor and inter-tumor heterogeneity.

BioJoyce Teng, MD, PhD is a professor in dermatology at Stanford University. She is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) at Stanford and Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC). She received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 12 years. She is one of the 6 pediatric dermatologists practicing at LPCH and one of 72 at SHC who specialize in Dermatology. She sees patients with rare genetic disorders, birthmarks, vascular anomalies and a variety of inflammatory skin diseases. She is also an experienced pediatric dermatological surgeon. Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research interest is on immunotherapy (including allogeneic transplant) of cancer. I have studies the mechanism of monoclonal antibody therapy in lymphoma patients and am currently working on designing new strategy to enhance the clinical efficacy of antibody therapy by infusing expanded NK cells. I am also interested in using tumor vaccine along with hematopoietic cell transplant.

BioDr. Jennifer E. Yeh, M.D. Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Yeh graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi with a B.S. in chemical & biological engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her M.D. and Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School, where she studied molecular modulators of the oncogenic transcription factor STAT3 and received the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Cancer Institute. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital followed by Dermatology residency in the Harvard Combined Dermatology Program where she served as Chief Resident during her final year.
Dr. Yeh co-directs a Dermatology-Rheumatology multidisciplinary clinic with a focus on autoimmune connective tissue diseases with Dr. Yashaar Chaichian (Rheumatology). Her clinical interests also include acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer. She has a special interest in medical education and serves as Co-Director of the Medical Dermatology curriculum for the Stanford Dermatology Residency Program. She also serves as the department's Wellbeing Director, championing initiatives to enhance professional fulfillment and reduce burnout. -
Lisa Zaba, MD, PhD

BioLisa Zaba M.D. Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Dermatology, and Director of the Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) multi-disciplinary clinic and member of the supportive oncodermatology group at the Stanford Cancer Center. She runs a lab focusing on the immunology of MCC and the treatment and prognostic implications of immune checkpoint inhibitor and targeted therapy rashes.
