Tariq Irfan Arif

BioTariq Arif is the senior associate director of licensing and strategic alliances, life sciences, at the Stanford Office of Technology Licensing (OTL). He has over 15 years of experience in university technology transfer with expertise in intellectual property management, leading the negotiation of licensing and research collaboration agreements, business development, and startup formation.
Before joining the OTL in July 2025, Tariq held various technology transfer and business development positions at UCLA, Mass General Brigham Innovation, Atara Biotherapeutics, CHLA, and NIH-NCI, including time as an associate director of the UCLA-PICI research collaboration.
Tariq is registered patent attorney with the USPTO and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. -
Marley Bauce
Managing Director, Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials
BioMarley Bauce joined Stanford in January 2023 as the Managing Director or the Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials (GLAM), one of 15 independent and transdisciplinary labs within the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research. In this role, he provides managerial, financial, facilities, strategic planning, and research administrative support for GLAM’s faculty, trainees, and administrative staff, while optimizing the vibrancy, interconnectivity, and safety of materials research across the university.
Prior to joining Stanford, Marley spent a decade at Columbia University, first as the Director of Research Development within the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research, then most recently as the inaugural Associate Dean for Research at the Climate School, where he created and led an 11-person Office of Research spanning compliance, grants administration, federal affairs, and strategic initiatives. Over his tenure at Columbia, he directly supported and wrote “center grant” proposals awarded $100M+ in federal funding.
Marley has an MPA in Management & Finance from Columbia University, an MA in Environmental Studies from NYU, and a BA in Philosophy from Hampshire College. -

BioMagdalene is an Industrial Contracts Officer in the Office of Technology Licensing. Prior to joining Stanford, Magdalene practiced law as an attorney external to the University, primarily serving startup, technology, and creative industry clients on transactional matters related to venture capital investments, intellectual property, data privacy, and US regulatory compliance. Achintya K. Bhowmik, PhD

BioDr. Achin Bhowmik serves on the faculty of Stanford University as an adjunct professor at the Stanford School of Medicine, where he advises research and lectures in the areas of sensory augmentation, computational perception, cognitive neuroscience, and intelligent systems. He is also an affiliate faculty member of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute and Human Performance Alliance, and a mentor for the Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program.
Dr. Bhowmik is the chief technology officer and executive vice president of engineering at Starkey Hearing Technologies, a privately-held medical devices company with over 5,000 employees and operations in over 100 countries worldwide. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, research and development, engineering and program management departments, and leading the drive to transform hearing aids into multifunction wearable health and communication devices with advanced sensors and artificial intelligence.
Previously, Dr. Bhowmik was the vice president and general manager of the Perceptual Computing Group at Intel Corporation, where he was responsible for the R&D, engineering, operations, and businesses in the areas of 3D sensing and interactive computing, computer vision and artificial intelligence, autonomous robots and drones, and immersive virtual and merged reality devices.
Dr. Bhowmik is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, board of trustees for the National Captioning Institute, board of directors for Mojo Vision and OpenCV, board of advisors for the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership at the University of California, Berkeley, and industry advisory board for the Institute for Engineering in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. He is also on the board of advisors for several technology startup companies.
He has also held adjunct and guest professor positions at the University of California, Berkeley, Liquid Crystal Institute of the Kent State University, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar. He received his Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, PhD from Auburn University, and attended the Executive Program at Stanford University. He has authored over 200 publications, including two books and over 80 granted patents.
His awards and honors include Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), President and Fellow of the Society for Information Display (SID), Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), Artificial Intelligence Excellence award by the Business Intelligence Group, Gold Globee award for “Most Innovative Person of the Year in Healthcare”, Top 25 Healthcare Technology CTOs by the Healthcare Technology Report, Notable Leaders in Healthcare by Twin Cities Business, Healthcare Heroes award by the Business Journals, Industrial Distinguished Leader award from the Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association, TIME’s Best Inventions, and the Red Dot Design award.

Ryan Coffee
Senior Scientist, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory
BioRyan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Arkansas followed by a PhD in Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) Physics from the University of Connecticut. He joined the PULSE Institute at Stanford/SLAC in 2006 and led the first laser pumped, x-ray probed experiment at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) in 2009. Since then, he has become Senior Research Scientist in PULSE and LCLS with an emphasis on AMO science and novel instrumentation and the requisite computational methods for streaming data processing at the sensor edge, in particular targeting the million frames per second LCLS-II.
In that context he has been a core member of the SLAC AI Initiative since its inception with particular emphasis on Machine Learning for real-time information extraction. With projects ranging from x-ray spectroscopy in molecules, ultrafast materials response, radiographic medical imaging, and tokamak plasma fusion, he has become an adamant proponent of data and model marketplaces for cross-domain innovation sharing with built in provenance and value tracking for an intelligent adaptive data and model retention.
Beyond SLAC, Ryan is driving an integrative approach to instrumentation and co-design of computing infrastructure across the portfolio of Department of Energy labs and facilities as well as technologies across the computing industry. From diagnostic and detector development to algorithms and AI accelerators, from the sensor Edge to Leadership Computing Facilities, he is leveraging his hobbies and his passions to drive the bleeding edge of basic science to address the emerging challenges of automation in industry and agriculture for a better future for his daughters. -

Amy Cordones-Hahn

BioI am a staff scientist in the Stanford PULSE Institute at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, where I work in the Solution Phase Chemistry Group. I am interested in understanding the excited state processes that drive photochemical reactions of transition metal complexes relevant for solar energy conversion and catalysis. My research takes advantage of the atomic specificity of ultrafast x-ray methods at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), coupled with complementary ultrafast optical spectroscopy methods, to resolve the dynamics and reaction mechanisms of transition metal complexes acting as photosensitizers and photocatalysts.

Peter Dahlberg
Assistant Professor of Photon Science and of Structural Biology
BioPeter Dahlberg received his undergraduate degree at McGill University in 2011 and his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Chicago in 2016. He then came to Stanford to work with W. E. Moerner and Wah Chiu to develop correlative light and electron microscopy methods. These methods give highly specific information on the machines that fill cells and make them work. In 2021 he was awarded SLAC’s Panofsky Fellowship to continue his work on correlative microscopy. In 2023 he transitioned to a Staff Scientist role at SLAC.
