Grad Writing Tutor, Hume CenterBioMarlon Ariyasinghe (he/him) is a writer, editor, theatre practitioner and researcher from Sri Lanka. He is a master’s graduate in English from the University of Geneva and received his BA (honors) in English from the University of Peradeniya. He served as the secretary of the Sri Lanka Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies and has organized multiple international literary conferences from 2010-2023. He was the co-editor of Mise en Abyme: International Journal of Comparative Literature and Arts (VIII, Issue 2), a special edition on Sri Lankan Combative Art, Angampora. He was the Senior Assistant Editor at Himal Southasian, a regional magazine of politics and culture. His rapportage has been featured in Reuters, DW, BBC World, WION, The Washington Post, NPR, and other outlets worldwide. Marlon has directed plays for Emmet Theatre Company in Geneva and published a collection of poetry Froteztology in 2011. Marlon’s research interests include Southasian theatre and historiography, performing blackness, Southasian antiblackness, cognition and performance, theatre pedagogy, and decolonizing actor-training methodologies. His research has been published in The Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Mise en Abyme: International Journal of Comparative Literature and Arts, and Phoenix: Sri Lanka Journal of English in the Commonwealth.

Altay Atli

BioDr. Altay Atlı is co-teaching the “Exploring Contemporary Turkey” course at Bing Overseas Studies program hosted by Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He is a lecturer at the Graduate School of Business and Department of International Relations of Koç University, as well as the Asian Studies program of Boğaziçi University, and the founding director of “Atlı Global”, an Istanbul-based boutique advisory firm providing consulting and executive training services on global affairs and international business. His areas of academic interest include international political economy, economic diplomacy, business-government relations and the political economy of Turkish foreign policy. A graduate of the German High School (Deutsche Schule) in Istanbul, he completed a B.A. degree in Economics at Boğaziçi University, an M.A. degree in International Business at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, and obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Boğaziçi University. Dr. Atlı was affiliated with Boğaziçi University’s Asian Studies Center as well as Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center, and he also worked as research coordinator at Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK). Dr. Atlı was chosen a "Global Emerging Voices Fellow” by Torino World Affairs Institute, in partnership with the German Marshall Fund of the United States, Australian National University, and Stiftung Mercator; and he was recognized as a “Young Academics Fellow” by the Global Relations Forum. He is an expert member at the China Network of Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) and he regularly appears on programs in channels like Bloomberg, BBC World, Turkish Radio Television (TRT), Ekotürk, TvNet, CGTN, NHK Japan, Channel News Asia, China Radio International, commenting on developments in global affairs and Turkey’s international relations. Dr. Atlı is also involved in sports management and he is currently a board member at the Turkish Handball Federation.

Francesco Bagnardi

BioFrancesco Bagnardi is postdoctoral research fellow at Scuola Normale Superiore. He holds a PhD in Social and Political Science from the European University Institute in Florence. His work intersects labour sociology, international political economy, and social movements. His research interests include labour movements and employment relations, economic and labour geographies, and global production networks. He currently works on the international political economy and mobilizations of intellectual property rights regimes and health.

BioUgo Biggeri is the representative for Europe of Global Alliance for Banking on Values, a global
network of sustainable banks and also President of shareholders for change, the network of
European institutional investors that promotes active shareholding on Environmental Social
and Governance issues. He was among the founders of Banca Etica in Italy of which he was
president up to 2019 (1,2 billion € portfolio credit) and up to 2023 also president of Etica Sgr
(Investment managing company – 7 €billion of assets) .
He has a degree and PhD in physics, specialization in Sustainable Development (Trento) and
in Business Management (Bocconi. Milano).
Since 2009 he is teaching Ethical Finance and Microcredit at the University of Florence
Always committed to the issues of social justice and ecology, both at family level and with his
work, promoting actions and campaign with Italian NGOs. -

Diana Boebe

BioDiana studied at the Freie Universität Berlin as well as the Université d’Orléans, France (M.A. in American Studies, French and Latin American Studies, 2008), and the Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis, France (M.A. in German Studies, 2011). She has taught German as a Foreign Language at Nice University in France, and since September 2011, she has been a language instructor at the Stanford University Program in Berlin. Her courses include German 1Z - Accelerated First and Second Quarter German and 101B - Advanced German.
Since October 2015, she has also been teaching for the Technical University Berlin (Department: German as a Second Language) where she works with prospective subject teachers and promotes language education across the curriculum.
