Joe Nail

Master of Arts Student in International Policy, admitted Autumn 2023BioJoe is the Founder and CEO of Lead For America, a nonpartisan national service organization building a stronger nation by enlisting exceptional Americans to serve in the places they call home. Through the Hometown Fellowship, Fellows serve in a paid, full-time capacity alongside a local leader in their hometown or home state for one year, before advancing into positions of community, state, and national leadership for decades to come. Joe founded Lead For America from his college dorm room in 2017 and has since raised more than $20M to make LFA one of the fastest growing nonprofits in America. LFA has been profiled nationally by outlets including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CBS This Morning, and NPR. In 2020, Joe was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
Joe also serves as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army National Guard, graduated first in his class from Officer Candidate School, and competes as a member of the All-Guard National Marathon team at races nationwide. He previously represented the U.S. abroad through a State Department scholarship to Indonesia and a year-long Congress Bundestag scholarship to Germany.
He is a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University where he will earn an MBA from the Graduate School of Business and a Master's in International Policy with a focus on U.S.-China relations and Great Power conflict. Joe graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UNC-Chapel Hill in 3 years as a Morehead-Cain, National Merit, and Coca-Cola scholar. He earned a Master's degree from Duke Divinity School, where he focused on the intersection of faith, public leadership, and military service. Outside of work, Joe is a National Geographic Young Explorer and dedicated Kansas City Royals fan, Ironman triathlete, mountaineer, and ultramarathon runner. His team and LFA are based in Kansas, where Joe was born and raised. -

Today, Stephen serves as a Partner at The Camelback, where he works closely with founders to design, build, and scale breakthrough products, while also incubating and building new companies from the ground up. His strength lies in bridging deep technical complexity with simple, elegant user experiences that drive real business outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Stephen was named College Entrepreneur of the Year by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2013 and achieved his first successful exit at age 25.

BioA Kenyan strategy and operations leader working at the intersection of technology, talent, and impact. I am passionate about building and scaling tech-enabled platforms that connect Africa’s emerging professionals with the growing global demand for expertise to train and advance complex artificial intelligence and machine learning systems.
As Director of Generative AI Operations at Hugo, I led teams delivering machine learning initiatives for global technology companies such as Meta and Google. Our work enhances AI systems through large-scale data annotation, quality evaluation, and human review processes that ensure accuracy, fairness, and high performance.
Outside of work, I am a husband and father, a Vassar College and LSE alum, and someone who enjoys trying new restaurants, snorkeling on beach holidays, walking in Nairobi’s urban forests, and taking my young son on new adventures such as his first trip to the ocean or spotting wildlife in the city’s national park. -

Jessica Marie Persano

BioJessica Persano is a Research Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she supports empirical research on American politics, elections, and public opinion under Dr. Andy Hall. She holds a B.A. in Political Science (Honors) and Geography/Environmental Studies from UCLA, where her senior thesis explored how policy type and political salience shape policy responsiveness across U.S. states. MBA, expected graduation 2028BioJohnny Powell, from Greensboro, North Carolina, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in psychology. Johnny aspires to lead medical practice in underserved communities and drive structural change to make health care more accessible at scale. While at Harvard, he led youth mentorship programming in Boston and Japan, conducted research in the natural and social sciences, and shadowed hospital physicians in Spain. As president of the Harvard Black Men’s Forum, Johnny implemented lasting infrastructure to promote public service and inclusion. After graduating, he worked as an associate consultant at Bain & Company on health care and social impact projects. Passionate about health equity, Johnny also served as research coordinator for the All of Us Research Program, a national National Institutes of Health initiative to increase diversity in health care research, at the University of Chicago.

Balaji Prabhakar

BioPrabhakar's research focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of data networks: both wireline and wireless. He has been interested in designing network algorithms, problems in ad hoc wireless networks, and designing incentive mechanisms. He has a long-standing interest in stochastic network theory, information theory, algorithms, and probability theory.

Marc Pritchard

BioMarc Pritchard is the Director, Research Operations supporting the operational, communications, and financial requirements within the Research Hub. He is a former FA-18 pilot and graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun). Over his 21-year career in the United States Navy, he completed five combat tours and served as the Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 25.
Following his retirement from the Navy in 2008, Marc returned to the Monterey Peninsula serving in various roles at the Naval Postgraduate School, most recently within the Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association and is the Aid Station Director for the Big Sur International Marathon.
