Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe laboratory develops and uses state of the art genomic methods to identify genetic factors affecting disease susceptibility, and to translate these findings into new treatments. We have developed a more efficient method for performing mouse genetic analysis, which has been used to analyze the genetic basis for 16 different biomedical traits. We are developing novel methods, and have developed a novel experimental platform that replaces mouse liver with functioning human liver tissue.

I am also interested in the intersection of radiology and biomedical data science with the goals of improving detection of subclinical ASCVD, stratification of cardiovascular risk, and implementation of equitable population-wide preventive intervention.

BioDr. Peng is board certified in sports medicine and family medicine. He treats athletes of all ages and loves to take care of the everyday patient who is looking to create and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. He specializes in using orthobiologics and ultrasound guided minimally invasive techniques to treat osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, and musculoskeletal disorders.
When not at work, his hobbies include reading, exercising, cooking, spending time with his wife, and creating mischief with his daughter and son. He is also fluent in Mandarin.
