Steven Salah-Eddine
Masters Student in Aeronautics and Astronautics, admitted Autumn 2022
BioSteven Salah-Eddine is a Master of Science student in the department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Steven is a research assistant in the Structures and Composites Laboratory at Stanford University, where he works under the guidance of his principal investigator, Professor Fu-Kuo Chang.
Steven is engaged in cutting-edge projects involving the development and optimization of multifunctional energy storage composite (MESC). His primary focus is on creating a scalable, integrable structural battery with built-in sensing capabilities. This innovative MESC battery is designed to replace single-purpose structural members, potentially reducing vehicle weight and increasing energy capacity for enhanced range performance. Such advancements are particularly crucial in developing robust Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (EVTOL) vehicle structures, where traditional EV systems often rely on redundant support systems to protect battery cells from heat, impact, and moisture.
Steven's research project targets the EVTOL market, exploring the application of MESC in commercial EVTOL body structures and determining the energy capacity needed for standard flights. His second initiative involves optimizing MESC specifications for a previously fabricated I-Beam, using MATLAB programing language for intricate design calculations and failure mode analysis. Beyond the lab, Steven's experience as an iPhone Product Design Engineering Intern at Apple has honed his skills in product design, adding to his expertise in design for manufacturability, finite element analysis, and materials science.
Steven balances his life with personal interests that include golfing, weight training, and running during his free time. -
Alexa Samaniego
Ph.D. Student in Business Administration, admitted Autumn 2022
Grad OCT, Hume CenterBioAlexa is a second-year PhD student in Organizational Behavior (Micro) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Alexa's research is inspired by her background in theatre and the performing arts. She considers how speakers and audiences experience repeated performances (e.g., entrepreneurs giving the same pitch, or trainers giving the same seminar), and why certain speakers come across as more authentic than others. Her research informs the work she does as a presentation coach in the Stanford Oral Communication program and TEDxStanford.
Prior to beginning her PhD, Alexa worked as a research associate at Achievers Workforce Institute and Columbia Business School. She received her BS in Business Psychology from UC San Diego, and her MS in Applied Psychology from San Diego State University. -

Leonardo Sanelli
MBA, expected graduation 2024
BioI am a first-year MBA student at Stanford. Previously, I was a Growth Equity Associate intern at the Italian Investment Fund ("Fondo Italiano d'Investimento"), focusing on tech investments. Before that, I advised for three years major multi-national clients as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company in Milan with a focus on TMT Strategy & Corporate Finance. Before McKinsey, I worked as a Private Equity Analyst at Gain.pro, a B2B SaaS Fintech start-up with a deal origination platform for the Private Equity industry in London.
I started my career in 2011 as a YouTuber with a channel on consumer technology, mainly about Apple products, reaching 50k subscribers and 10 million views by producing 220 videos. In 2019, I founded Mentors4u High Schools to coach and mentor students on their career choices, reaching 3k students through webinars and 100k through online content.
I graduated in 2019 from London Business School and in 2018 from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Cum Laude and Valedictorian. -
Bianca Santos
