Geno is a passionate health educator dedicated to helping people make healthy choices and increasing access to health services. As a health educator, teacher, trainer, and coach Geno integrates yoga services with exercise and nutrition programs in clinical settings to promote wellness, prevent disease, rehabilitate injuries, and manage pain. His work is grounded in yoga teachings, the pillars of lifestyle medicine, and the essential services of public health.
Geno has a Master's of Public Health and Recreation with an emphasis on Community Health Education. He is a 500HR Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher, National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practioner.
Geno works to promote complete physical, mental, and social well-being and address health equity through coalition building and policy innovation. His work aims to increase individual and collective access to integrative care and build community capacity to empower people to proactively embrace a healthy life informed by their communities' collective experiences. -
N. Ruth Case, MD

BioDr. N. Ruth Case is a board-certified psychiatrist and lifestyle medicine physician with Stanford Health Care. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Case specializes in lifestyle psychiatry, which blends traditional psychiatric care with evidence-based lifestyle interventions. In addition to medication management, she offers her adult patients a range of lifestyle support services, including exercise therapy, nutritional counseling, stress management, and sleep optimization. She is dedicated to providing integrative care that supports patients in all aspects of their lives that impact their mental health.
Dr. Case’s research interests include integrating lifestyle interventions into psychiatric practice. She has presented her work at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association and at the Society of Critical Care Medicine's Critical Care Congress. She has lectured on the importance of lifestyle psychiatrists following the same guidelines they share with their patients for optimizing physical and mental health. Dr. Case has also published articles in Stanford Medicine magazine and discussed her work on State of the Human, the Stanford Storytelling Project podcast.
Dr. Case is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and the American Psychiatric Association. -
Austen Brooks Casey

BioAusten Brooks Casey, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine (advisor: Boris Dov Heifets, MD, PhD). He originates from western North Carolina, and has had a long-standing interest in psychiatric drug discovery, which was invigorated by initial coursework in organic chemistry and biochemistry. Austen trained at Northeastern University (advisor: Raymond G. Booth, PhD) where he studied the medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology of novel ligands targeting serotonergic G protein-coupled receptors. As a postdoc, he is investigating the the precise cell-type(s) and circuitry engaged by MDMA that evoke social approach and fear extinction retention in mice. His long-term goal is to perform circuit-based drug discovery targeting neural circuits underlying the symptoms and treatment of psychiatric disorders.

Carlos Castillo Passi

BioCarlos Castillo-Passi began his academic journey at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (PUC), where he earned both a degree and an MSc in Electrical Engineering in 2018. He then pursued a PhD in Biological and Medical Engineering through a joint program between PUC and King’s College London (KCL), completing it with maximum distinction in 2024. His research focused on the design of low-field cardiac MRI sequences using open-source MRI simulations. In 2023, his work on open-source MRI simulations was highlighted by the editor of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (MRM). Furthermore, his application of this work to low-field cardiac MRI earned him the Early Career Award in Basic Science from the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) in 2024. In addition to his research, Carlos is an active member of JuliaHealth, contributing to the development of high-performance, reproducible tools for health and medicine. In 2025, he joined Stanford University as a postdoctoral researcher, where he continues his work in cardiac MRI and open-source technologies.

Jennifer Caswell-Jin

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research is on the translational application of next-generation sequencing technologies to breast cancer care: (1) the value of hereditary cancer genetic panel testing in clinical practice, (2) the mechanisms by which inherited genetic variants lead to breast cancer development, and (3) the analysis of somatic tumor sequencing data to inform understanding of breast tumorigenesis, metastasis, and development of resistance in response to therapeutics.

I then went to the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where I earned my MD. I then moved to the West Coast and completed my orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). I am now an Adult Reconstruction Fellow in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stanford University.

Katie Cederberg
Postdoctoral Scholar, Psychiatry
BioDr. Cederberg is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University in the Mignot Lab, where she devotes her time to conducting research leveraging large datasets and machine learning approaches aimed at better understanding the relationship among genetics, proteomics and the presence and severity of symptoms related to sleep disorders. Her research further focuses on studying the effectiveness of exercise for managing symptoms of sleep disorders, primarily restless legs syndrome (RLS) and co-occurring conditions (e.g., periodic limb movements and insomnia). Her current research explores patients’ experiences with exercise and RLS, as well as the relationship between exercise and proteomic biomarkers of RLS. She received her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her dissertation used a series of methodological approaches to comprehensively examine the relationship between physical activity and RLS in adults who have multiple sclerosis. She is using her experience and training to develop a line of research for identifying the mechanism of action for the effect of exercise and informing exercise prescription parameters for managing symptoms of RLS.

Omar I Ceesay

BioOmar was born in Banjulinding, The Gambia and moved to the United States to play soccer at Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC). He then transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He worked as an Emergency Department (ED) and Neuro-rehab nurse for three years, and subsequently enrolled into the UNMC College of Medicine. He is part of the 2027 graduation class.
Omar's interest in neurosurgery predates medical school. He is particularly interested in Global Neurosurgery and Neurotrauma. He has an ongoing research on ways to optimize neurosurgical care in underserved areas of the world. His time at Stanford will be spent on tumor and functional EEG research, under the tutelage of Dr. Melanie Hayden-Gephart and Dr. Ashwin Ramayya, respectively. In his free time, Omar enjoys playing soccer and board games. -

BioMy name is Natally Celaya-Martinez, and I am from the Skagit Valley area in Washington State. I graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle with a B.S. in Biology (Physiology), where I learned a lot about navigating new spaces and learning a lot of wholesome lessons along the way ~
My interest in healthcare was shaped by watching my family navigate care through language barriers and moments of misunderstanding, revealing how easily patients can be left unheard. But growing up in a small community, I came to see how crucial it is to reduce healthcare disparities, which strengthened my commitment to serve underrepresented populations.
I am honored to be part of the Stanford Healthcare team and look forward to learning from peers and physicians who are committed to patient centered care. I hope to carry these experiences forward in my journey to medicine and give back to future generations! -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research focuses on advanced echocardiographic imaging of the right heart and pulmonary circulation, with a strong emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence and deep learning into clinical cardiology. I led cardiovascular phenotyping for NIH-funded immune aging cohort and am developing a research program in women's cardiovascular health, including sex-specific imaging phenotypes and the cardiovascular consequences of adverse pregnancy outcomes across the menopausal transition.
